Kino Kids Short Film Festival

Calling all under 18 year old filmmakers in Kent.
Profile your films on the big screen!

Ramsgate based multi-award winning independent film production company, Medb Films, in collaboration with Screen South and the Kent Film Office, are hosting the first ever KINO KIDS SHORT FILM FESTIVAL with selected films will be screened in a Kent cinema as part of Kent Summerscreen events. The production company are based in the charming boutique Royal Harbour Hotel above Ramsgate Marina.

A festival dedicated to discovering and inspiring Kent filmmakers of the future.

Schools or individuals can submit short films completed over the past 24 months for consideration for the festival.* There is no lower age limit.

Awards are dedicated in the names of those with a strong Kent connection. The Paul Greengrass (director The Bourne Ultimatum, born in Kent) Award for Best Film, The Noel Coward (writer, Brief Encounter, lived in St.Margaret's Bay) Award for Best Screenplay, The Thelma Schoonmaker (Oscar winning editor, Goodfellas, The Departed, lived in Canterbury) Craft Award, The Wallace & Gromit Award for Best Animation and The Brenda Blethyn (actress Secrets & Lies, Born in Ramsgate) Award for Best Acting.

Medb Films' Elaine Wickham and Jan Dunn, professional filmmakers based in Kent with their second award winning feature film, Ruby Blue, starring Bob Hoskins currently on general release in cinemas had this to say: "We are absolutely delighted to be hosting such an event to help find the next generation of filmmakers from Kent."
